Report: Recommendations for Action on the Collection of Local Stormwater

In a new report released by the Wheeler Institute for Water Law and Policy at Berkeley Law’s Center for Law, Energy & the Environment (CLEE), ground stormwater capture recommendations for regulators and stormwater managers are made, with findings from local implementations. In Accelerating Cost-Effective Green Stormwater Infrastructure, the recognition of runoff as a resource is prioritized, and green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) is recommended to solve stormwater management challenges faced by communities. It is a local approach with benefits that are two-fold: By capturing the water locally, it can be kept and stored for later use while also preventing urban runoff from flowing and polluting local waters.
